Facebook is the popular social networking site which allows you to keep in contact with friends and family for free. Facebook.com allows you to send messages, update your personal profile, and the most popular application of all, share photos.
As well as interacting with friends and family, Facebook allows you to meet new people of which might share similar interests. These could be found through the fan pages which are set up according to interests of perhaps, hobbies or fan bases for example.

You can also instantly message your friends by using the 'chat' application, so messages are instantly received through your desktop. This makes chatting quicker, easier and is similar to desktop based instant messaging like msn or ebuddy for example.
Facebook is also been made available for you mobile phone, this allows you to send photos straight from your mobile phone to your facebook profile, update your status and send messages to your friends using texts from your mobile phone. Not only to give, but you also are able to receive wall posts from others and status updates as they happen so this is ideal for when your out and may want to inform people of something your doing right now without having to be sat a desktop computer, and keeps your friends really up to date with what your doing.
Facebook simply put it: 'Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life.' Just simply a way to have a chat or communicate with your best friend, partner or even your mum, about anything you want to!
